Chesapeake- Timothy King Sr. entered into eternal life on April 20, 2023. He was born on November 2, 1962 to Matthew and Dollie King in
Buffalo, New York.
Tim graduated from Southpark High Schoo1 in 1980. After graduation, he attended Bryant and Stratton College for one year before he joined the United States Navy 20 April 1981. His love for the Navy took him on many deployments with several aircraft carriers severed in many Aircraft Squadrons as an Aviation Electrician. He was commission to Chief Warrant Officer in June 1999 and retired after 30 years of faithful service on 01 July 2011 after achieving the rank of CWO4. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration on 4 August 2018.
He received numerous decorations, medals badges, citations and compaign ribbons to include: GWOT Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal (2), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (3), Navy Marine Corps Expeditionary Medal; Good Conduct Medal (5); Joint Meritorious Unit Award (3); Navy āEā Ribbon (3); Meritorious Unit Commendations (3); Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (7); Navy/Marine Corps Achievement Medal (6); Navy/Marine Corps Commendations Medal (7); Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist and a Meritorious Service Medal. After retiring he continued working for the Department of Navy at the Commander, Navy Air Force Reserve where he continued doing the job he loved.
On January 20, 1993 Tim married Lillian Lavern Levison. To this union three children were born. Tim and Lillian were devoted to each other for over 35 years. Tim is preceded in death by his loving parents, Matthew and Dollie King; and a sister, Dottie Sue King.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory his wife, Lillian King; son, Timothy King Jr.; daughters: Kynesha (Chazton) Graziano, Brianna (Terrell) Johnson, Brittley (James Glass), Nevaeh King and Rico Eason; six grandchildren: Timothy III, Brandon, Alina, Briell, Aaliyah and Paisley; one brother, Mr. Gary (Cassandra) King; one sister, Mrs. Linda (Joseph) Ballard; one aunt, Dorothy Sexton; mother-in-law, Mrs. Christella Levison; four sistes-in-law: Mrs. Marilyn (Timothy) Williams, Miss Melissa, Debra and Katrina Levison; one brother-in-law, Mr. James (Carlista) Levison; special friend, Miss Sharon Joseph; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will take place 12noon Saturday; April 29, 2023 at Fitchett-Mann Funeral Services Chapel; 1146 Rodgers St., Chesapeake, VA 23324. Visitation will be Friday; April 28, 2023 from 4-6pm.
