Chesapeake-Marvin L. Peoples transitioned to the heavens above unexpectedly on Friday; June 30, 2023. He was born in Hampton, VA to Rena Peoples and Edward Lee Whitaker (Phyllis).

Marvin attended Hampton High School and went on to driving trucks. He loved his job and was a Truck Driver for over 20 years. Marvin was the life of the party and always liked to joke. He also loved playing chess, fishing and making music (beats).

He leaves to cherish precious and longlasting memories, his beloved wife, Melba Peoples; his children: Deh'Quane Parker, Sophia Peoples, Holden Peoples and Serenity Peoples; stepdaughter, Ty'Jea Davenport; grandaughter, Elizabeth; several other grandchildren; mother, Rena Peoples; special father, Samuel Jenkins (Eleanor); sisters, Chmonica McGhee (Will) and Sherri Whitaker; brothers: Edward O. Whitaker (Christina), DaWan Whitaker (Candi) and Edward L. Whitaker (Sunshine); godmother, Sheila Shy; godbrother, (SanJuan Shy-deceased); bestfriend: Arnold Bailey; favorite aunt, LaVern Ferguson; favorite niece, Lailah McGhee; father-in-law, Melvin Warren; his inlaws; Wanda Davenport, Tina Davenport, Amanda Davenport; Kathy Davenport; James Davenport Jr., Thomas “Allah” Davenport (Alicia), and Kelvin Davenport; other nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A funeral service will be held 11am Saturday; July 15, 2023 at Greater Mount Zion Tabernacle COGIC; 3100 Deep Creek Blvd; Chesapeake, VA. Viewing will be 4-6pm Friday at Fitchett-Mann Funeral Services; 1146 Rodgers Street; Chesapeake, VA 23324.
