Chesapeake-On Tuesday; September 19, 2023, our beloved Helen Lee Futrell gained her heavenly wings. She was born May 24, 1926 to the late Johnnie Lee Santiful and Jimmie Lee Santiful.

Helen was a nurturer and lived a life of caring for and serving others. She was known as the Super Nanny and also worked as a Warehouse worker. Helen knew God as the head of her life, with whom he had her own personal relationship with. She enjoyed spending time with her family and making her famous fish and apple pie.

Helen was predeceased by her husband, Johnnie Futrell, Sr.; and her daughters: Shirley, Carolyn (Raymond) and Helen Sinclair.

She leaves to cherish memories of love, two daughters: Nancy (Roger) and Ionia (Raymond); two sons: Johnnie (Debra) and Bruce (Dorothy); beloved sister-in-law who she loved dearly, Rosa Lee Johnson; 27 grandchildren; 50 great grandchildren; 60 great great grandchildren; nieces, nephews; cousins and friends.

A funeral service will take place 11am Monday; October 2, 2023 at Fitchett-Mann Funeral Services; 1146 Rodgers St., Chesapeake, VA 23324. Visitation will be held on Sunday; October 1, 2023 from 2--4pm. Please continue to pray for the family.
